The Map of the Analogous City

This map helps to understand the Analogous City, the collage created by Aldo Rossi, Eraldo Consolascio, Bruno Reichlin, and Fabio Reinhart for the Venice Biennale of Architecture in 1976.

The publication resulted from a collaboration with Archizoom is downloadable for free at Infoscience, but you can buy it as a folded map on Amazon.

Making use of augmented reality, visitors are invited to discover the references that influenced Rossi and his friends. Available on smartphones and tablets, the app works with any copy of the Analogous City and is freely available from both Android and iOS stores.

The work has been displayed at the Bonnefanten in Maastricht, the EPFL in Lausanne, the GAMeC in Bergamo, and the Triennale of Milan. Soon it will be part of the Aldo Rossi’s exhibition at MAXXI in Rome.

Among peers and friends that contributed to the work, special thanks go to Fabio Reinhart, whose exceptional contribution with two marvelous texts enriched further the understanding of the Analogous City.
