The Map of the Analogous City
This research sheds light on the Analogous City, the collage created by Aldo Rossi, Eraldo Consolascio, Bruno Reichlin, and Fabio Reinhart for the Venice Biennale of Architecture in 1976.
All its references are identified and printed in a folded map, freely downloadable on Infoscience or buyable on EPFL Shop. Also, an app for Android and iOS allows readers to interact with the map through augmented reality to recognize references easily.
The work is an Archizoom initiative protracted in collaboration with Bonnefanten in Maastricht, EPFL in Lausanne, and GAMeC in Bergamo. In addition to these museums, the Map of the Analogous City has been exhibited at the Triennale of Milan and MAXXI in Rome.
Among contributors, special thanks go to Fabio Reinhart, who enriched the map with two significant texts on Analogous City 40 years from its creation.
The International Journal for Digital Art History published an article on the museum experience titled Extending Museum Beyond Physical Space.
